Its registered office is located in Lyon, France. The company was founded with the aim to have a better understanding the biological properties of embryonic stem (ES) cells and to use this knowledge for practical applications in human and animal health. With its several years of research investments, the company has become the world leader in ES cells research. Its distinctive expertise in the field of avian ES cells led to the development and successful commercialization of EBx platform, a series of fully-documented cells lines derived from chicken and duck ES cells. EBx is an innovative, safe and cost-effective production platform for the industrial manufacture of human and veterinary viral vaccines and recombinant proteins. The company's technical and scientific expertise in virus research enables it to develop a second proprietary technology, the 3D-Screen platform, a cell-based drug screening platform that allows the discovery of original small-molecules that prevent viral replication through allosteric modulation of key target viral proteins. The company has licensed EBx platform to several major pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the Europe and the United States for non-exclusive or exclusive applications. It has also exploits these platforms for its own internal research and development for the production and prevention of a series of infectious diseases.
