The company is the world market leader in the manufacture of seamless hot rolled steel tubes for all applications. The company supplies the world's largest and most comprehensive range of seamless steel tube sizes and has an annual output of up to three million tonnes. Its corporate headquarters is located in Boulogne Billancourt, France.The company was founded in October 1997 as a joint venture between the French Vallourec Group (55 percent of shares) and the German Mannesmannrahren-Werke AG (45 percent of shares) joining together all their production units and marketing interests for seamless hot rolled tubes and threaded oilfield tubulars (OCTG).Seamless hot-rolled steel tubes from the company have a wide range of applications in its modern world. These are the main industrial branches which require different tube and pipe products suited to their special applications: Oil and Gas Industry, Petrochemical Industries, Power Generation, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Industry, Construction and Civil Engineering, Mining Industry, and Hollows.It has steel production capacities of its own in Saint-Saulve (France), Duisburg-Huckingen (20 percent shares in HKM, Germany), Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and in Youngstown (Ohio). With this independence, the company is not only in a position to offer short delivery times but also to produce hundreds of different steel grades matched to the individual demands of the tube and pipe customers.The company operates production sites in Europe, Brazil, the USA and China. It also has representative offices in Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the USA, Brazil, China, Canada, Mexico, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Russia.
