This company is an international group that, together with its subsidiaries, is active in the manufacture and sale of finished watches, jewelry, watch movements and components. It was formed in 1983 through the merging of the two Swiss watch manufacturers ASUAG and SSIH. The company has its registered head office located in Biel, Switzerland.The company owns some of the most famous and fine brands of watch of the history of watchmaking. It offers watches in all price and market categories: Breguet, Blancpain, Jaquet-Droz, Glashuette-Original, Leon Hatot, Omega, Longines and Rado in the prestige and high-range segments; Tissot, Calvin Klein, Certina, Mido, Hamilton, Union and Balmain in the middle-range segment; Swatch and Flik Flak in the basic-range segment, and Endura in the private-label segment. The company also manufactures mechanical and quartz movements.The company supplies nearly all components required by its eighteen watch brands, and its subsidiaries supply movements and components to third-party watchmakers in Switzerland and around the world. It is also a key player in the manufacture and sale of electronic systems used in watchmaking and other industries.The company is the largest manufacturer of finished watches in the world. It has some fifty production centers situated mainly in Switzerland, also in France, Germany, Italy, the United States, Virgin Islands, Thailand, Malaysia, and China. The company is active in more than 50 countries.
