The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.The company operates business through its four main business divisions: Storebrand Life Insurance, which provides a range of pension and insurance products; Storebrand Investments, a specialty asset manager that offers a range of Norwegian, European and global equity and fixed-income products; Storebrand Bank, which offers traditional banking services (including accounts and lending) to the retail market and project financing for selected corporate customers; and Storebrand Skadeforsikring, which provides standard property and casualty insurance products to the Norwegian retail market.The company is a leading provider of financial security and financial services to both private individuals and to businesses. It serves its customers through its insurance offices, agencies and bank branches located in five geographic regions, and has a close working relationship with its former non-life branch If Skadefarsakring. Also, the company is the leading provider in the Norwegian life insurance, pensions and savings market. It administers more than 23,000 company pension plans and 3,800 life insurances.In addition, the company's International Life department primarily serves the Major Client Life and Corporate Life business areas. This department is organized into four areas: Network (multinational pooling), Nordben (risk and savings), Provident Fund (retirement savings plan for seafarers) and BUPA (health care insurance).The company aims to be the leading and most respected institution in the Nordic market for long-term savings and insurance. In 2003, the company merged with Finansbanken, a specialist bank for high net worth individuals and selected segments of the corporate market.
