It was incorporated in December of 1993 and has its registered business office address located in Rome in Italy.The company is the leading operator in Italy in the postal services area. It is an innovative, competitive operator in the area of financial and payment services, such as post office current accounts, post office savings accounts, post office interest-bearing bonds, national and international money orders, and currency exchange services. The company is based on six fundamental assets, which include logistics infrastructure and ICT; payment management systems; image of trust/reliability; role of certifying body; multiple channels; and widespread presence throughout the country.The company boasts a network of 14,000 post offices; more than 200 sorting centres for mail and parcels; more than 46,000 postmen and postwomen; 2,700 ATMs; 38,000 POS; 17 daily air routes; and more than 40,000 vehicles. It plays an all-important role for citizens, small and medium enterprises, big businesses and bodies of public administration. The company's postal products include letters (priority mail, registered mail, insured mail, and express mail); parcels (express courier, regular parcel, international express courier, express mail service, Quick Pack Europe); telematic products (Telegram, Fax, Certitel). Its products for business include foreign mail (Premium, Economy, IDM - International Direct Mail, m-bags premium, m-bags economy, Direct Entry); direct mailing (Postatarget, Postatarget-magazine, Promoposta, Unaddressed direct advertising); parcels (Paccocelere Impresa); and telematic products (Teltex, Posta Raccomandata Online).
