The Zeppelin Stiftung foundation, which is largely controlled by the town of Friedrichshafen, owns the company. It is among the top fifteen companies on the ranking list of the largest automotive suppliers worldwide.The company has production sites in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Hungary, Italia, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, Australia, China, India, Iran, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, United States of America, Mexico, Argentina, Algeria, South Africa and Brazil. The company has created a joint venture with Robert Bosch GmbH on shift systems and heavy-duty dampers.
