Coronavirus, Google & co spostano la produzione fuori dalla Cina

Google e Microsoft accelerano i loro sforzi per riuscire a portare la produzione dei loro nuovi telefoni e computer portatili fuori dalla Cina, spostandoli nel sudest asiatico, a causa del peggioramento del contagio da coronavirus. A beneficiarne, sostiene una inchiesta della Nikkei Asian Review, saranno le fabbriche vietnamite e tailandesi. Google dovrebbe far cominciare la produzione del suo nuovo telefono low cost, che si dovrebbe chiamare Pixel 4A, a partire da aprile. Verranno utilizzate delle fabbriche nel nord del Vietnam. Inoltre, la prossima generazione di flagship della linea di telefoni della casa di Mountain View, che si dovrebbe chiamare Pixel 5, sarà prodotta nella seconda metà dell’anno direttamente in uno dei paesi principali paesi produttori nel sudest asiatico: Vietnam o Tailandia.

Vaticano, governo, Microsoft, Ibm e Fao. Nasce la carta etica per l'intelligenza artificiale

Il Vaticano alza la voce. E per farlo ha chiamato al suo fianco Microsoft, Ibm, la Fao e il governo italiano. A via della Conciliazione, pochi metri da San Pietro, la strana alleanza presenta la Rome Call for AI Ethics, una carta etica per lo sviluppo dell'intelligenza artificiale (Ai). A firmare il documento Mons. Vincenzo Paglia, presidente della Pontificia accademia della vita (Pav); il direttore generale della Fao Dongyu Qu; il presidente di Microsoft Brad Smith; la ministra per l’innovazione tecnologica Paola Pisano e il vicepresidente di Ibm John Kelly III. Con loro, sul palco, anche il presidente dell'Europarlamento David Sassoli.

Intelligenza Artificiale e etica: Ibm e Microsoft con il Vaticano

“L’intelligenza artificiale è nelle sue fasi iniziali e ora è il momento di affermare la nostra responsabilità condivisa e lo scopo comune come esseri umani, società e governi per garantire che queste tecnologie emergenti siano sviluppate e utilizzate eticamente e per il bene dell’umanità e dell’ambiente. La Call è un importante passo avanti nel definire  procedure etiche condivise e Ibm è orgogliosa di essere firmataria”. Sono le parole di John Kelly III, vicepresidente esecutivo di Ibm, che insieme a Microsoft il 28 febbraio parteciperà alla sottoscrizione di “Rome Call for AI Ethics”, un documento a favore di una visione etica dell’Intelligenza Artificiale.
