This company is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution, sale, and retail of electricity. It was incorporated in 1944, it was formerly known as Iberuero. The company conducts business from its registered head office located in Bilbao, province of Vizcaya, Spain with four combined-cycle facilities: Castellon, Castejon (Navarra), BBE (Vizcaya) and Tarragona. It is one of the largest electricity companies in the world and a benchmark in renewable energies: supplying electricity to approximately 100 million customers. It generates electricity through hydroelectric, nuclear, coal, gas combined cycle, and cogeneration facilities; and electricity from onshore and offshore wind, mini-hydro, solar thermal, photovoltaic, biomass, and trades in, and retails natural gas. In addition, the company provides engineering and construction services for power plants and facilities.
