It was formed in 1840 when it was decided to establish Podbrezova Ironworks, the first rail producing plant in the Austria-Hungary monarchy. Rails, sheet and iron bars were the first products of the company. Its registered head office is based in Podbrezová.The company is focused on providing quality steel and service. Its quality management system is certified under ISO 9001:2000 by SGS Yarsley ICS Limited. Furthermore, additional certificate under ISO/TS 16 949 has been obtained by the company for supplies to the automobile industry. Its product range is divided into the following: seamless steel tubes, cold drawn precision seamless steel tubes, precision welded steel tubes, tube semi-products, buttwelding steel fittings, longitudinally welded steel pipes of large diameter, and continuously cast steel blooms.The company's line of seamless steel tubes is produced by two technological procedures: hot rolled and cold drawn. Moreover, its production method depends on tube dimensions, technological facilities and customer specification. On the other hand the production method used determines tube prices. Its seamless steel tubes have wide industrial uses as tubes for steel construction, pressure purposes, heat exchangers, threading and welding, flammable liquids and gas transport, the oil industry, mechanical treatment, machine parts and general use. The company's cold drawn precision seamless steel tubes are produced by the classical method of drawing on linear drawing bench for input semi-product-hot rolled tubes. Precision steel tubes can be used for the following: hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, pressure hydraulic and pneumatic lines, automotive equipment, bearing rings and standard use. Furthermore, the company's precision welded tubes are produced on advanced high-duty equipments. Flat rolled steel strips are shaped by bending, high-frequency heated and longitudinally welded. These tubes are used for the following: the automotive industry, heat exchangers, furniture production and more.The company's tube semi-products are specially designed and tailored to customer's needs. Its cold drawn precise tubes are machined, while hot finished tubes are furnished as various forms of semi-finished products.
