Batterie, Tesla verso l’addio al cobalto con l’aiuto della Cina

Nel mondo dell’auto elettrica si prepara la rivoluzione: Tesla si avvia ad abbandonare le batterie a base di cobalto, almeno nella Model 3 appena entrata in produzione in Cina.

Il gruppo di Elon Musk, secondo fonti Reuters, sarebbe in trattative avanzate con la cinese CATL per rifornire la gigafactory di Shanghai con batterie “cobalt free”. La scelta sarebbe caduta su accumulatori Litio-Ferro-Fosfato (LFP) invece di quelli più comunemente utilizzati nelle auto elettriche: di solito Nickel-Cobalto-Alluminio (NCA) o Nickel-Manganese-Cobalto (NMC).
