It is a leading broadcaster of sports, movies, entertainment and news. More than eight million customers - equivalent to almost one in three households in the UK and Ireland - enjoy an unprecedented choice of movies, news, entertainment and sports channels and interactive services on Sky digital, the first and most popular digital pay-TV service in UK and Ireland. Sky is an established and widely recognised brand, with a reputation for quality and innovation. It operates and distributes 28 wholly-owned channels, including Sky One, Sky News, Sky Travel, the Sky Sports channels and the Sky Movies channels, via its digital service. Sky retails a further 109 third party channels to DTH viewers. It also operates the Sky BoxOffice (SBO) service, which provides pay-per-view films, sporting events and concerts. Customers can also use Sky+, Sky's digital video recorder, to record and store their favourite programmes to watch.
