The company is the Italian trading arm of Montres Rolex SA, a Swiss manufacturer of wristwatches and accessories and the largest single luxury watch brand. The group was founded by Mr. Hans Wilsdorf, a German National Citizen and his brother-in-law, Alfred Davis in 1905. Initially the company was named Wilsdorf & Davis. The company is the first to create a waterproof, airtight, and dustproof watch; and makes men's and women's watches, stopwatches, pocket watches, and clocks. Its gold, bronze, and stainless steel watches are available with diamonds or other precious stones. The group has three watch lines, Rolex, Tudor and Cellini. Among modern Rolex Oyster watch models are the: Air-King, Datejust, GMT Master II, Explorer, Submariner, Sea-Dweller, Daytona Cosmograph, Day-Date, Oyster Perpetual, and Yacht-Master.
