With registered head office located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, the company was founded in 1963 to make parts for Honda Motors of Japan.The company is Taiwan's largest motorcycle producer and one of the world's leading manufacturers of PTWs and other motorized vehicles. It produces a range of scooters, mobility scooters, ATVs and, especially since the 2000's, both light and heavy motorcycles which are traded in Taiwan and abroad under the KYMCO brand. Its production facilities located in Kaohsiung, employ approximately 3,000 employees and produce more than 480,000 machines per year. It also has overseas production factories in Jakarta, Indonesia; Shanghai, Changsha and Chengdu in China. It also operates factories in Vietnam and the Philippines as joint ventures. Its products are marketed and sold in Taiwan as well as exported to more about 75 countries worldwide including Asia, Oceania, America, Europe and Africa. The company also produces PTW's and ATV's as an original equipment manufacturer for third-party brands. It aims to satisfy the customer's desire and need in safety, convenience, and entertainment through extensive research, sale strategies, development, provision of safe, stable, high-performance, and highly efficient power device, products and services.
